April 10:

Homework: Work on the Marine Biome research. What you include in your poster is not limited to the material we required on the note sheet. Try to be as creative as possible with the way your write your facts. Avoid just making lists.

Math: Today we worked on a variety of fraction problems where students had to determine the best approach to solving them. We discussed how if you are sharing it is a division problem. We discussed strategies such as finding equivalent fractions to help solve a problem.

Language Arts: I am so proud of the students progress with their Lit Trips they are almost ready to publish. Special thanks to Audrey for sharing how to correct our double pin problem in Google Earth.

Science: We are working on our food webs at this point. Students are also researching to finalize the information they will be including in their posters. They shouldn't glue anything down until they conference with me. As a matter of fact, we will be gluing together on Monday. Special thanks to Lilia and Julia for helping with the scanning of food webs.

Social Studies: Today students were discovering some of the incredible places to visit in the Maritime Provinces. We looked into Louisbourg, L'Anse aux Meadows, and Bay of Fundy. A trip to the Maritime Provinces may be in your future. We are continuing to read parts of Anne of Green Gables during breakfast.
